Coachella Alert

Attention Paulies readers -- as you've likely seen, the Coachella artists have been announced...and they're through-the-roof exciting:

Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Passion Pit, Public Image Limited, Vampire Weekend, Yeasayer, Devo, Gossip, Hot Chip, MGMT, Muse, The Dead Weather, The xx, Charlotte Gainsbourg, De La Soul, Deerhunter, Gorillaz, Julian Casablancas, Pavement, Phoenix, Sly and the Family Stone, Spoon, Thom Yorke, Yo La Tengo

Any Paulies readers attending? It's hard for me to resist.

Holy ... I went in '07 and it was one of the best concert experiences of my life. Haven't been back due to lack of excitement.

But this year? I am very down; the line-up's insane. If a group's willing to either camp or find a spot outside of the desert (not recommended per personal experience), count me in.

Barring stage conflicts, I want to see ...

Friday: Fever Ray, Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Them Crooked Vultures

Saturday: DEVO, Faith No More, Hot Chip, Les Claypool, MGMT, Sia, The Dead Weather, Z-Trip

Sunday: De La Soul, Gorillaz, Orbital, Plastikman, Sly & The Family Stone, Spoon, Thom Yorke

I know this won't line up with everyone else's must-sees, but the beauty of Coachella is everyone can see their dream lineup then meet up in between/after.

Thanks for posting, Paul, and I'm hoping we can get a Coachella crew for this year.

This year's line up is pretty great. I went in '04. I may consider going if others are making the trip, but don't count on me. I'm planning on going to Sasquatch over Memorial Day Weekend per usual. I'd be happy to host any Paulie readers. Pavement is confirmed.

I've never heard of this festival and so when I clicked on the link I crossed my fingers that it'd be located somewhere convenient to me. I live in Oakland, CA so I'm jazzed. If there's a group plan going, I'd love to be counted in fo' sho'.

Year after year Coachella is a siren calling me west, not unlike South by Southwest calling me to Texas. But despite one of the GREATEST line-up's I've ever seen, I'm probably going to New Orleans Jazz Fest instead (two weeks after Coachella).

I would love to see Fever Ray again--and I really really REALLY want to go. However, time/money/distance aren't really working in my favor. Who knows??
